A good workout program from home is any type of exercise that provides you with a way to reach your fitness goals without having to go outside. Home workouts are convenient options when you don't have time to go to the gym, when the weather is outside is crummy, or when you just feel like working out - and relaxing - in private.

Since, like most people, you probably want to lose fat, gain muscle, and improve your overall health, your workout program from home should incorporate all of the following features:

Some people really enjoy running (or walking) on a treadmill or using a zero-impact elliptical exercise machine. Just remember that it's very important to add strength training to your cardio workouts. A set of adjustable dumbells is a good option and, if you think you'll actually use it on a regular basis, a small home gym can be a very good investment.
