Buying Natural Health Insurance

3 things you can do today to protect your health -- and enjoy optimal fitness -- for life!

  fitFAQ Fitness Guide

Yes, medical health insurance is important to have. If you get hurt or sick it will help you pay the doctor's bill. But what's even more important is natural health insurance: doing the things that keep your body and mind healthy so that you rarely -- if ever -- get sick or injured.

There are many people who live their entire lives free from disease. Almost without exception, these are people who have put health and fitness at the top of their 'priority' lists. If you decide to make the right changes and adopt the right habits right now you may also be able to enjoy a very long, very happy, and very healthy life! So let's get going...

3 Ways to "Buy" Natural Health Insurance

1. Exercise

Few things are as important to your long-term health as regular exercise. Indeed, human beings are designed to use their bodies -- especially their lungs and muscles -- on a daily basis. From an evolutionary standpoint we are literally "optimized" to wake up, go out, and run down our food for the day. Or, at least, to walk until we have gathered enough plant foods to sustain us until tomorrow. Only in the last hundred years or so have large numbers of people been able to sit around and buy ready-made food, with little or no exertion on their part. It's no coincidence that heart disease and obesity -- two formerly rare diseases -- have exploded onto the world's population during the same time period.

Simply put, living a sedentary lifestyle is unnatural and incredibly unhealthy. If you want to make the first step towards purchasing natural health insurance you must start exercising today. Even if that means going for a 20 minute walk around your neighborhood it's ok. Just do it. Within days you'll begin to feel better. After a few weeks and months you'll have dramatically improved your health, increased your energy level, and lowered your risks for all kinds of diseases!

2. Eat LOTS of vegetables every day

Without a doubt, vegetables are the best foods -- and probably the most important foods -- you can eat. In fact, there is a growing body of research that proves regular consumption of fresh vegetables is critical to good short-term and long-term health. Yet, most people don't eat nearly enough of these nutrient-packed foods. Either they think they don't like the taste or -- and this is very common now -- they believe that foods like french fries and ketchup count as vegetable servings!

In reality, most people are just unused to eating fresh veggies on a regular basis. But anyone can learn to love these delicious foods, especially because there is such a wide variety of tastes and textures available in the vegetable kingdom.

So, basically, if you want to stay healthy and disease-free, you must eat veggies... and lots of them! The huge amounts of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and phytochemicals they contain literally make them 'edible' health insurance that anyone can afford. If you base your diet around vegetables you don't have to worry very much about diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and many types of cancer.

3. Drink fresh, pure water

Most people simply don't get enough clean water into their bodies every day for optimal health and fitness. Water is the foundation of life and definitely the cornerstone of a healthy diet. Millions of people are in a chronically-dehydrated state that can lead to everything from lack of energy to cancer. Many people are able to feel dramatically better within a day or so simply by upping their water intake. For optimal health, try to drink at least 6-8 glasses of water per day -- more if you exercise a lot or live in a very hot area.

And, just so you know, we are talking about pure water here... not tap water! Unfortunately, the vast majority of public water sources have been tainted with chemicals and other toxins for years now. Drinking water from your kitchen sink really is not a good idea. To be sure that you're drinking "healthy" water, install a high-quality water filter in your home or at least buy bottled water. Yes, it's more expensive than tap water, but it's much cheaper than getting cancer. Also, it's one of the best natural health insurance investments you can make!
