Fitness Secrets of the Hollywood Stars

Ever wonder how Hollywood movie stars and top celebrities stay in such great shape year round? For most of them, it involves a lot more than just following some "celebrity" fad diet. Here's a list of some of the things many of the top stars incorporate into their training and lifestyle in order to keep body fat levels down and fitness levels up...

1. They don't eat "white" foods -- Just like most models, movie stars tend to avoid anything made with white flour and white sugar. They eat mostly natural foods made from whole ingredients.

2. They cross train -- Celebrities tend to focus on doing a variety of exercises instead of just doing one thing every day (e.g. running, bike riding, etc.).

3. They stretch -- Much of the current popularity of yoga, pilates, and other stretching-intensive forms of exercise began because Hollywood celebrities starting doing them.

4. The do many of their workouts outdoors -- Many celebrities like to get outside to workout. Of course, it helps that they live in Southern California where the weather is almost always fantastic!

5. They focus on body fat levels, not weight -- Hollywood movie stars are more concerned with how they look on the big screen than with how much they weigh. That means low body fat is the primary goal, not just weight loss.

You may not be a famous celebrity or movie star, but there's no reason you can't follow the steps above to improve your own fitness!

No wonder they stay in such good shape. Although I also heard that smoking lots of cigarettes and doing drugs also helps suppress the appetite. Could this also be a celebrity secret? J/K

Good post you got here, I would like to think that they are all just blessed with fantastic genes. However the truth is that they eat right and train hard. It also doesn't hurt to have a few trainers, nutrition experts, and personal chefs. :)

Excellent article. Water is also important. That bottle of water in the hand is not JUST a stage prop or an advertisement. I recently heard an interview in which a personal fitness trainer to several movie stars was asked how one of his clients got such great abs. His reply was that it was with lots of exercise, both strength and cardio, AND proper hydration...i.e. lots of water, not soda and coffee.

Please take a moment to drop by my blog at http://nodiet4me.blogspot.com and leave a comment.

Yea I’ve read many times how some of the stars stay in shape. Cross training and doing different types of exercise everyday certainly does help keep you from getting board but don’t forget that many of these people have a certified personal trainer to help keep them motivated and on track.

If all of us could afford personal fitness trainers then we’d likely be in as good a shape as many of these famous people. They do eat well to. Things without flour and sugar are definitely a plus though they’ve been hard to avoid for me. I’ve also read that a ton of stars like to do crash diets which are horrible for you. Eat right and exercise five days a week and you’ll be ready to go!

I'm sure the top stars have personal trainers who can tell them exactly what to eat and how to exercise.

My brother is a trainer, you can read some of his tips in the article section of his site:

hi
This is unrelated, but I was wondering if you can shed some light:
Muslims fast 1 month every year from dawn to dusk, and that means they do not eat or drink in that time period. Depending on the time of the year, and the geographical location, this can be from 10-15 hours long.
I just haven't come to a conclusion if one should be exercising (I'm a fitness instructor) during this month, or let go?
If they should, then what kind of exercising? Obviously it would be something moderate, but more of cardio or less? muscular conditioning only?
It's interesting that a lot of people gain weight too, because of emphasis on fried foods as part of the culture, etc.
Thanks!

Don't think that genes are not important... they are. But genes are not a good reason to make excuses for your own fitness goals. Eat right and train hard and you will be happy with the results!

Many of them smoke to stay skinning. Haven't you ever noticed in the pictures of them how many have a cigarette in their mouths? Too many people focus on the stars and what they are doing. We don't know what they do behind closed doors. Focus on your own needs and goals and everything will work out.

Blog 1

Well I know when you’re losing more than a couple of pounds a week you’re doing more harm than good. I remember a few years ago I was told by my doctor to cut back, lose weight and get exercise. He told me not to lose move than about 3 pounds a week. I managed to lose almost 3 every week by decreasing my intake to 1200 calories a day and running like a mad man on the loose.

I know that aside from the harmful things many famous people do to themselves to lose weight, most of them also have the luxury of having a personal trainer. I myself was looking for a personal trainer in Orange County out here in California because I’d heard so many good things about them, plus I find it tough to stick with my lifestyle change at times. My point? Well a little self control and effort go a long way with loosing weight. These Hollywood types do all the horrible fad diets when they just need a lifestyle change and some help from a fitness trainer.

It's interesting you mention 'body fat levels'. This is truly one problem with our society. We're so hooked on weight when in reality we should be monitoring body fat. Thanks for the good read.

Good post. I also found cutting out the "white carbs" helped. Lost 8 inches this year alone and got pics to prove it on myblog.
Anyway thanks for the tips they really DO help!
